Well, It does have a happy ending. Everything goes the way it should. Honestly, I don’t think there could be any other ending that might be as good as this one. For further information, I recommend You should watch the movie to know what I am talking about. Is A Silent Voice Popular? McCallum, Jessica (March 2, 2017). The entire elementary school class, including Miki Kawai (another friend from elementary school) and Satoshi Mashiba (a friend of Miki’s), have been invited to an amusement park by Shoya. When they arrive, they are joined by Naoka Ueno (who had also bullied Shoko alongside Shoya in elementary school), who leads Shoko onto a Ferris wheel.Shoya finds out The grandma of Shoko and Yuzuru recently died. Shoya drives them to the countryside to lift their spirits, and he notices that Shoko is blaming herself for everything that has gone wrong. When Shoya realizes how much he cares for the sisters, he makes a life-changing decision. Egged on by his school mates, Shoya bullies the newly arrived Shoko, who happens to be deaf. Perceived to be receiving special treatment, and being different (a crime in Japanese society), Shoko is fair game for any number of cruelties. Until it goes too far. Shōya's surname Ishida means "stone, volume measure" (石) ( ishi) and "field, rice paddy" (田) ( ta/ da).
It’s unclear how close their bond is, especially after Shōya reaches his last year of high school, with his sister’s face and name never being revealed. It’s possible that there’s a disconnect between the two for several reasons, including Shōya closing himself off from almost anyone who isn’t his mother or Maria, or that his sister constantly works to provide for her daughter and isn’t around too often. The movie chronicles the emotional, social, and spiritual attributes that are manifested by a group of adolescent schoolmates in elementary school, especially as to how they relate to a hearing impaired girl that is introduced into their group. Each teen reacts to the newcomer in a different way, including many varied and negative reactions and outcomes. Shōya Ishida, a former delinquent bullies the deaf girl, Shōko Nishimiya, with his friends joining in. Finally, when Shōko is forced to transfer to another school after enduring a period of the most cruel bullying, all of Ishida's friends, as well as the teachers, blame him for bullying her into leaving. He is made the scapegoat, despite the varying levels of culpability that others have had in torturing her. This results in Ishida himself being bullied and ostracized well into high school. He comes to the conclusion that there is really no point in having friends. Having no plans for the future, Ishida even attempts suicide. But with redemption being offered, he learns sign language and unexpectedly reunites and befriends Shōko, who is still very lonely due to her hearing impairment and extreme shyness. By then, Shōko herself is contemplating suicide due to her own social and emotional problems. Presenting teenage companionship and social relationships in a frightening, yet compelling way, it is a movie showing the many facets of teenage friendship, pride, betrayal, ostracism, redemption, and genuine love.Apparently, there are a lot of characters in this 2-hour long film. And quite a number of them I believe didn't develop to the maximum as the film concludes but it was suffice enough to convey the message that the film desires to.
