Stole, Bryn. "Louisiana's first lady delivers Christian devotionals, and hope, to incarcerated women". The Advocate . Retrieved 2018-08-25. Young’s passing was publicly announced in a statement from her publisher, HarperCollins Christian Publishing. In the introduction of Jesus Calling, Sarah Young, writes, and I quote, “Of course, I knew my writings were not inspired-as only Scripture is”. “The Bible is the only Infallible, inerrant Word of God, and I endeavor to keep my writings consistent with that unchanging standard. I have written from the perspective of Jesus speaking, to help readers feel more personally connected with Him…”

Sarah Young, 77, Dies; Created an Empire Around a Christian

I think this statement to be attentive to “messages” from Jesus is proof this is not Jesus. Jesus gave his message recorded in God’s word – there are not multiple venues for messages from Jesus and there is no biblical support for the idea that they can come in any form. However, a false Jesus would say this. In fact, having read many channeled and New Age books purporting to be words from God or Jesus, I can affirm that there is always at least one statement that opens the door for believing God or Jesus can speak through anyone or any medium, thus validating the channeled message or book. This statement is the signal in this book for such a deception: an attempt to authenticate Jesus Calling by having this Jesus tell us to look for messages that might appear anywhere through anyone in any form. It gives justification to the idea these messages come from Jesus. I marvel at her endurance and her faith,” Gifford said. “I’m deeply humbled by her heart for Jesus.” While at CTS, Young met her husband, Stephen Young. The couple married in 1977 and then moved to Yokkaichi, Japan, to plant a church with Mission to the World ministry. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. (Matthew 24:24) In 2004, in one of her rare, carefully staged interviews, Sarah Young was asked by the Christian Broadcasting Network “How did you learn to ‘dialogue’ with God?” She answered that it was from reading the book God Calling: She decided to study philosophy prior to becoming a Christian because she was in search of the “truth.”

Jesus Calling a good book? Are there any doctrinal Is Jesus Calling a good book? Are there any doctrinal

In the original August 23rd “message” in Jesus Calling, Sarah Young’s “Jesus” attempts to give a new distorted description of Abraham. He states that Abraham, in regard to his son Isaac, was guilty of “son-worship,” “undisciplined emotions,” and “idolatry.” Many believers rightfully recoiled at these bizarre extra-biblical remarks. There is nothing in the Bible to suggest that what Young’s “Jesus” is saying is in any way true. After these defamatory and derogatory references to Abraham were widely publicized in 2013,44 the whole Abraham and Isaac scenario was completely removed from all subsequent printings of Jesus Calling. The italicized words below show how “Abraham and Isaac” were edited out and “Joseph and Jacob” were cut and pasted into that otherwise same paragraph. After these unbiblical statements in the original Jesus Calling were publicized in 2013,19 Sarah Young’s “Jesus” changed the wording of his two statements in a special Jesus Calling, 10th Anniversary Edition published in 2014.20 Compare the original January 28th and October 15th “messages” that had been in Jesus Calling since 2004, with the replacement words that were inserted into the 10th anniversary edition in 2014. Notice how the two phrases “These were the last words I spoke” and “My final statement” have been removed and “after My resurrection” has been inserted in their place.

But He answered, “It is written: Man must not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”
